In reply to Angela. With half the original budget, the Trails project team suddenly arrived and started work this week. Hardwood posts and direction signs are being installed and maps will be erected. Funding does not allow the renovation of some cobbled trails and the planned three years of maintenance but I am happy to be participating and that finally the project has become a reality thanks to the tenacity of the study's author. He was not local.

We have also been researching Skopelos as a place to stop over and hike for a few days at the end of September…it sounds like maybe we should hold off and visit some other year. I am sorry that you have had such a burden- we share your passion for trails but it sounds like you have limited support from the locals.

If this trail architect gets going and things progress quickly (doesn’t sound likely) then please post as we will keep an eye on your site. We were very happy to find your blog when starting to research Skopelos.
