Hi there. It has now been cleared and and marked. Caution should still be exercised above the bridge where the trail is crumbly. It is also now possible to veer off if you wish to Ag Georgos monastery at Pera Karia. Enjoy and don’t hesitate to contact again.

Your account also shows why an old path on a map should not automatically be treated as a usable hiking trail. We are the team behind Wander Experten and would love to clarify one point for route planning: has the section from the bridge down to Tzilali now been cleared, or should walkers still regard this as a restoration project? Due to the Greek tax system, this voucher system would not work. Plus few shops open year round. And few shop owners care. Juices & Books used to give a small discount to volunteers but no longer.

A suggestion, if I may: would shops in the towns be willing to give discount vouchers that can be distributed to volunteers based on hours worked?
